Mixed Media
As an artist I like to challenge myself by trying out new mediums and artistic styles. This page has the results of my experimentation with new ideas. Some of non-objective abstracts and some have recognizable features. Most involve an exploration with new materials.

Orange Runs Through It
Orange Runs Through It, Color Abstract #3
mixed media on wood panel, 16” x 16”, 2014
This color abstract features curving shapes and lines in red violet, red orange, and blue green with black accents. It is made with textured papers, ink, and acrylics. The thing I love about abstracts is that everyone sees something different when they look at them. It is mounted so that it appears to float on the wall.

Delicate Arch
Delicate Arch
mixed media
This abstracted version of Delicate Arch in Arches National Park has a look that resembles stained glass. I was experimenting with using acrylics thinned down with a medium and squeezed through a bottle to create dimensional lines. This painting is on a stretched canvas and is painted around the edge. It can be displayed with or without a frame.
